The paintings I am currently working on combine landscapes I’ve travelled through with historical photographs to create pictures of human absence and presence in the natural environment. In my studio process, I begin each new painting as a reaction or response to a previous work and my imagery evolves over time into a series of paintings in conversation with each other.
