“In this series of still lifes I explore the joy and beauty that can be found in domestic spaces. Over the past few years our relationship with our homes and suburbs has changed and perhaps broadened our appreciation of the ways in which our immediate environment has an impact on our social, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Drawing inspiration from Australian flora and fauna, every day objects, textiles, books and interiors, these paintings celebrate the ways in which we adorn our surroundings to create personal sanctuaries in difficult times.”
