The soft glow of warmth, a vibrant, energetic atmosphere, a calming meditative mood: these are responses Aly Indermühle’s artworks elicit from her spectators. Her distinctly feminine light works in both public and private spaces combine elements of wonder with the spectacle of technology, yet her works remain firmly grounded in the realm of art and skillfully navigate away from gadgetry. Space engulfed and altered by light, colour, and mood – the inspiration for her light works are found in her viewer’s experiences and reactions, leading her to attempt to connect on a human level through emotion and feeling.
Colour and light are explored in her practice as a means of human connection. Her sculptural light penetrates its surroundings and wraps the viewer in its welcoming glow. These works are intended for every human; they are about the connection we all long for in a technology is driven world, delivering answers in the quest for beauty in our lives.
