06 Apr Black Box Curator at Mars Gallery: Video Art Workshop
How and why should I collect video art?
Love video art but unsure how to include it in your collection? Understanding how to acquire, record, and display video artwork can be confusing, and in today’s world of technology, there are many options available. So where do you begin?
In this conversational Q&A, Brie Trenerry lecturer at VCA and PSC and Mars Video curator will accompany artist Nasim Nasr and MARS director Andy Dinan to answer your questions about why and how to collect video art.
Trenerry will go in-depth about her experience working and curating video art as well as sharing some of her favourites.
From the perspective of an artist working with video, Nasim Nasr will explore why she as an artist uses the medium of video in her art practice today and Andy Dinan, will share her extensive experience in how video art can be installed in homes, how to buy video works and what to ask for when buying it. Trenerrry and Dinan will share their personal top tips for buying video art now.
Attendees will have their chance to ask the experts their questions with everyone taking home their very own piece of video art for their collection!
If you are not able to visit the seminar in person, don’t fear, we will be live on Instagram where you can watch and ask your questions to our experts.
