Josh Muir | NGV

MARS is excited to present work by Josh Muir to coincide with his current exhibition at NGV Australia, ‘Josh Muir Animated’.

We are currently exhibiting a new body of work in the downstairs gallery. The full catalogue is now available to view online.

‘Josh Muir Animated’, 2018 is currently on display at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia and has been featured in their latest issue of NGV Magazine.

This three-wall projection  creates a feeling of deep intensity. It combines electro sound, moving colours and cartoons which transport the audience to a psychedelic, surrealist cityscape. The imagery narrates Muir’s origin story as a graffiti artist working in Ballarat, drawing from his Yorta Yorta, Gunditjmara, Dja Dja wurrung, Wada wurrung and Barkindji ancestry.

‘Josh Muir Animated’ is on display as part of ‘Marking Time: Indigenous Art From the NGV’.

Now showing until August 2020.
