22 May JOSH MUIR | Royal Children’s Hospital Art Trail
Represented artist Josh Muir was selected to participate in this year’s Royal Children’s Hospital Art Trail. To celebrate 150 years, the RCH is bringing colour and creativity to the streets of Melbourne and Geelong with a spectacular public art trail culminating in an online fundraising auction.
Josh Muir was commissioned to create a work on the mythical creature UooUoo (pronounced ‘you you’) that engages and inspires the communities in which it is placed. The title of Josh Muir’s sculpture ‘BINGA’ comes from his son’s own unique lingo. It means balloon.
The one hundred unique UooUoos will be placed among laneways, streets, parks and public spaces, forming two sections of a walking trail across Melbourne and Geelong.
After the event, the sculptures will be auctioned and take up more permanent residence with their new owners. By either sponsoring or purchasing a sculpture, individuals and corporations will contribute to this major fundraising event for the hospital, ensuring an enduring legacy for future generations.
