New works by Josh Juett are now available in the stockroom at MARS!

These works are an extension of Josh’s recent series at MARS, Gilded Cage, which was presented earlier this year in August. Drawn to sombre Dutch still life paintings of the 1600s, Juett’s own exacting and technically precise paintings excavate his childhood recollections. Folding references to popular culture and the cartoons, toys and video game characters of his childhood into playful and surreal compositions, Juett invokes a cryptic personal symbology that is by turns irreverent and affecting in its allusion to the transience of life.
