Matthew Harding, ‘Centricity’, laser cut steel facade and pre-programmed LED light screen

The 240-square-metre screen lights up with a colourful spectacle at night and slowly changing, ambient lighting of a daytime. The screen titled ‘Centricity’ is Victoria’s largest LED-programmed steel sculpture designed by Melbourne artist Matthew Harding and symbolises Footscray’s diversity. The multicultural atmosphere inherent to Footscray has created a hive of activity and a rich cultural melting pot that is distinct and unique. This is illustrated in the interweaving of art and architecture in ‘Centricity’.
