BIOGRAPHY
Simon Finn lives by the ocean. He often creates multimedia installations, including video, drawing and sculpture that are informed by his professional experience in Architecture, visualisation and freediving. Finn is interested in mapping the impact of various forces within oceanic and man-made environments. He harnesses technology and emotion to generate images of hypothetical destruction and regeneration.
Finn is particularly interested in the physical and psychological transformation that would occur when interrelating with an architectural structure at one atmosphere below the ocean surface. Finn’s works present the plans for this designed structure, within the realm of possible conclusions. The artworks are a sketch for a future poetic experience within a constructed form that would bridge forgotten connections between human and thalassic.
