17 Mar Tony Lloyd at Benalla Art Gallery

Tony Lloyd presents a major solo exhibition of oil paintings at Benalla Art Gallery. High Plains Drift, comprised of works painted from both photographs and memory, is inspired by the Lloyd’s experiences travelling around Australia, New Zealand, and Switzerland. He states, “The specific locations are not as important to me as the creation of a psychological space. The landscape is so much bigger than us. Looking at it you feel small. It’s connected to the sublime but not in a dramatic way, in a quiet way.”

High Plains Drift is open at Benalla Art Gallery from the 17th of March until the 7th of May.
