Harry McAlpine Artist Statement:
I made both of these images during the Covid-19 pandemic. The world felt like a strange place, and somehow it feels stranger now. These characters were born of an imagined future that exists on a continuum of this strangeness. It imagines a world where those who've grown up knowing little but synthetic and simulacrum, adorn themselves in two-dollar-shop trinkets, and wear toilet paper roll medallions around their neck, fore they remember the time when the 'grown ups' lost their humanity.
