"These pieces—Koki Rains, Webadu, Koki Winds, Webok, as well as my video work BAKIAMU—are the beginnings of a growing body of visual meditations on ancestral connection, natural forces, and the rhythms of culture that continue to shape who I am.
Through photography and moving image, I seek to honour my community and our enduring practices. Each image is layered with memory, ritual, and spirit. Working with lens-based media allows me to reimagine cultural stories and knowledge systems within contemporary visual frameworks, creating work that is both intimate and expansive.
These works are not just representations—they are invitations. They ask viewers to listen deeply, to feel the wind on the reef, to witness the quiet power of kinship, and to reflect on what it means to carry culture forward."
