We are excited to see Jenna Lee exhibit her debut major solo show titled 'Of Smoke and Rain' at the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art (NCCA) in Darwin, NT. The exhibition will be on show between 5 August - 27 September.
Spanning five years of practice, 'Of Smoke and Rain' brings together new and existing works that reflect Jenna's ongoing exploration of language, materiality, and the transformation of inherited histories. Jenna explores the elemental forces that shape life in the tropical north, reflecting on the cyclical nature of the seasons, centering on moments of transformation, when the first rains break the build-up, and when life returns after fire.
Jenna Lee is also showing at Redcliffe Art Gallery for the exhibition 'Living Archive: Blak Resistance and Joy by Munimba-ja’s Blak Creatives' with her work con/served lexi/con. Jenna's work recontextualises incorrect and fraudulent narratives of Australia's history by transforming it into a series of settler tableware.
