We are pleased to see Atong Atem's collaboration with the Darwin Street Art Festival's 'DOUBLE EXPOSURE' event, which brings her vibrant visual storytelling to life through large-scale projections across Darwin's CBD. As part of the one-night-only outdoor exhibition on Saturday 14 June, Atong's work will be projected on the RSL Block. Atong's video work Her Skin is a Mountain delves into the themes of identity, representation and the diasporic experience.
The event is also in collaboration with Kenyan artist, Thandiwe Muriu, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Atong will also participate in 'HOME 25: Invisible Cities' at the Walker Street Gallery & Arts Centre in Dandenong, Victoria between the 24 June - 27 September. Atong investigates the themes of identity, belonging and displacement, aligning with the exhibition's exploration of 'home' through a diverse cultural lens.
