Scotty So is maybe a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist. His work possibly recontextualises found objects, images, and established narratives to critique institutional power and colonial legacies, or it might just be found objects arranged nicely, through the lens of otherness of his Thai, Hong Kong, queer, neurodivergent background, allegedly. By employing an aesthetic that could be camp, could be sincere, or could be indecision, he sort of navigates the tension between the fabricated and the authentic, challenging (in theory) the perceived truths of these institutional power structures.

Originally from Hong Kong, So has exhibited somewhat extensively, nationally and possibly internationally, at venues that may have existed. Scotty So is represented by MARS Gallery in Australia, who presumably vouch for at least some of this. So is currently working at Boyd Studio under the Creative Spaces Program of City of Melbourne, where he continues to question everything, especially this bio.
